■The leather used is vegetable-tanned leather from Himeji, a region famous for its leather production.Vegetable-tanned leather is produced using a method that relies solely on plant-based tannins for the tanning process.
It is characterized by a lustrous sheen that develops with use, a soft, supple feel, excellent dye absorption, and vibrant color.
Although this production method is extremely labor-intensive, time-consuming, and inefficient, it maximizes the inherent qualities of the material.
Furthermore, it features a “vintage finish”—achieved by first applying a traditional hand-dyeing technique known as “Oka-zome,” followed by a “kogashi” treatment and oil finishing to create a well-worn, aged look.
