These are original Buzz Rickson’s pants made from cotton twill, modeled after Army denim trousers.
Workwear that once clothed laborers in the United States. In the U.S., painters who painted the white walls of buildings wore white trousers so that any white paint splatters wouldn’t stand out.
Against this backdrop, these white work trousers eventually came to be known as “painter’s pants” and gained widespread popularity.
Featuring a total of five pockets—two in the front, two in the back, and one watch pocket—these design details were carried forward into subsequent work trousers and chino pants.
■The fabric is a light-ounce, natural-colored cotton twill.
The black specks visible in the fabric are evidence of an era when spinning technology was less advanced, and raw cotton was ground up and used as-is during the spinning process. Please enjoy the textured fabric that faithfully recreates the feel of the good old days.
■The front features metal buttons bearing the U.S. ARMY logo.
