This is a motor culture series set in “MOTOR PSYCLONE GARAGE,” a fictional motorcycle shop that operated in Oakland, California, from the 1950s to the 1960s.
This product is a new style of watch cap based on a military watch cap from around the 1950s, redesigned for sports and motorcycle use.
■The material is a knitted fabric made from Tasmanian fine wool. It is 100% wool, making it very warm, extremely soft, and highly stretchy, with a smooth texture that lacks the typical itchiness associated with wool.
It has just the right amount of volume when worn, and the size is easy to style even for those new to knit caps, with moderate stretch across the sides. Since it isn’t tight, you can wear it stress-free.
■This model is designed based on the story of how MOTOR PSYCLONE GARAGE—a motorcycle shop favored by outlaw bikers—commissioned POWER WEAR, a manufacturer of knitwear and sportswear, to produce it. As a result, it features a MOTOR PSYCLONE woven label on the inside and a POWER WEAR woven label at the back of the lining.
■A new MOTOR PSYCLONE logo patch is attached to the fold-over section, serving as a design accent. Why not try wearing it with the patch facing whichever direction you prefer?
■The crown features a six-sided stitch pattern known as a “starfish pattern,” a design commonly seen on military watch caps from the 1950s.
