"EASTMAN LEATHER CLOTHING" is a British brand that meticulously reproduces vintage flight jackets from the 1939–1945 era, with a focus on American military clothing.
With a history spanning over 30 years, this reproduction manufacturer sources the exact same materials used back then. They commission every component down to the finest detail from the original parts manufacturers of the era, recreating each piece to the exact same specifications as the originals and bringing them back to life in the modern era—resulting in reproductions that can truly be called authentic.
Production takes place primarily in their own factory, and their greatest strength lies in maintaining quality, advancing their craftsmanship, and ensuring consistent manufacturing.
Their aesthetic is rooted in military style, while their other label, “ELMC,” was launched as a collection inspired by the mid-20th-century motorcycle scene, offering everything from biker styles to sportswear.
■This model recreates the unofficial cap worn by some members of U.S. special forces during the Vietnam War.
■The Michel Camo pattern featured in this product was adopted as a successor to the previously used Duck Hunter Camo pattern, which was discontinued because it was originally intended for duck hunting and was also associated with accidental shootings.
Originally, this pattern was not intended for combat uniforms but was used for helmet and tent fabrics; it was never officially adopted for clothing, making it a camouflage pattern that rarely appears as apparel even on the vintage market.
■The material is the brand’s original fabric. It is a stiff fabric that has been wash-treated to evoke the vintage look of a pattern that has faded in the sun-drenched jungle.
■While it resembles the USMC P-44 CAP adopted in 1944, the design details differ.The brim is slightly longer, and the stitching along the top edge of the front three panels of the crown creates a slightly more upright silhouette compared to the USMC P-44 CAP. We have faithfully reproduced this feature as well.
■As part of the “MADE IN JAPAN Series,” its high quality goes without saying. From the fabric itself to the original side grommets crafted from scratch, the attention to detail makes this a great choice for vintage enthusiasts.
