This series embodies a “Fiction Romance”—a narrative born from Sugar Cane’s unique combinations, created by unraveling historical facts and period documents to revive lost details.
■The fabric features a check pattern created using three types of variegated yarn—shades of indigo achieved through skein-dyeing and natural white—inspired by vintage indigo-dyed fabrics.
“Kasezome” (skein dyeing) is a traditional dyeing method in which yarn is formed into loop-shaped bundles called “kase” before being dyed.
Because no tension is applied to the yarn, the dye penetrates uniformly to the core, allowing the yarn’s inherent plump and soft texture to be brought out to the fullest.
