PRE-ORDER FOR DELIVERY IN SEPTEMBER 2026
The origins of Chelsea boots date back to around the 1830s.
It is said that they originated as boots made for Queen Victoria, featuring elastic on the sides for a snug fit and easy on-and-off wear; they were originally worn as dress shoes.
Chelsea boots became widely popular in the 1960s, largely due to British musicians—including The Beatles and The Rolling Stones—wearing them.
The name “Chelsea” derives from the Chelsea district of London. While Chelsea is now known alongside Mayfair as an upscale residential area, in the 1960s it was known as a place where artists—including painters, visual artists, and musicians—worked and lived.
Based on this classic Chelsea boot, we’ve refined the details, updated the design, and upgraded the materials and components to create a masterpiece suited for the modern era.
By using JOHN LOFGREN’s original D-width last, we’ve also paid special attention to achieving a clean silhouette.
As a result, these boots are highly versatile, suitable not only for rugged styles but also for elegant ones. Another appealing feature is that they’re easier to put on and take off compared to other boots.
■The leather is Chromexcel Leather (an aniline-finished oil-tanned leather, thickness: 2.0–2.3 mm), the highest grade from Horween, a long-established American leather manufacturer.
Because Chromexcel Leather contains a high oil content, it is resistant to cracking even with extended wear and is characterized by its thickness combined with softness.
■The soles and heels are made by the world-renowned manufacturer Vibram, offering exceptional grip, durability, and abrasion resistance.
■Crafted using the Goodyear welt construction—one of the traditional methods for making leather shoes—these boots boast exceptional durability thanks to their complex stitching.
This construction method, commonly found in vintage boots and high-end footwear, is characterized by a level of sturdiness that is unmatched by other methods.
Thanks to its intricate stitching and construction, the shoe’s perfectly balanced weight creates a pendulum-like motion while walking, providing excellent support.
One of its main attractions is that it can be worn virtually indefinitely, as repairs such as sole replacement, full sole replacement, and heel replacement are possible.
■We will deliver the shoes in a dedicated box.
