What is OX’ED SILVER? It is a label that has revived for the modern era—through research and analysis—suits worn as workwear by specific laborers, artisans, and artists, as well as the shirts, T-shirts, and other garments worn with them.
This season’s collection focuses on four professions—ranch workers, coal miners, firefighters, and master masons—and incorporates their characteristics into the designs.
As the product name suggests, this item is based on the henley-neck shirts worn by ranch workers.
■Different fabrics are used for each color. The IVORY color is made of a cotton-linen blend, while the BROWN color is a jersey-knit T-shirt made with slub yarn from “brown cotton.”
“Brown cotton” refers, literally, to brown cotton flowers—the original species of cotton.
Common cotton is an off-white with a faint beige tint, but this color is the result of humans selectively breeding the original species to make it easier to dye.
While this white cotton is standard today, “cha-men” is rare and precious. Because it contains tannins, “cha-men” tends to be more durable than selectively bred cotton.
Since it is undyed, it has a supple, soft feel against the skin, making it a truly luxurious fabric.
■Each piece is finished without removing the cotton lint during the manufacturing process, resulting in a fabric with rich texture and a three-dimensional feel.
■It features a relaxed body width and sleeves that are about half-length.
■The cuffs feature an extremely intricate design with two distinct knitting patterns to ensure just the right amount of snugness.
■The buttons are made from animal bone, a meticulous detail chosen to match the product’s historical setting.
■This item has a washed finish.
