From Nigel Cabourn’s 2025 High Summer Collection, a shirt has been released featuring a fabric with a Wabash stripe pattern created using a discharge printing technique, based on a shirt once worn by the U.S. Navy.
■The fabric is a Wabash-striped denim.
The Wabash stripe is a distinctive pattern found in workwear, featuring white dots or stripes arranged on indigo-dyed fabric. Rather than being printed, the pattern is created using a dye-removal technique called “bassen,” which allows the design to stand out, offering a unique texture and rich, aged character.
■Although relatively lightweight, the fabric is suitable for year-round wear, and one of its charms is how the color fades and ages naturally the more you wear it.
■It features a moderately relaxed fit characteristic of Nigel Cabourn.
■The simple design makes it a versatile piece for mixing and matching. It’s recommended not only for workwear but also for military-inspired fashion.
■This item has been pre-washed.
