This denim jacket is based on a 1940s denim jacket and incorporates design elements from a British Army battle dress jacket.
Please enjoy this design, which goes beyond a simple reproduction and features the signature twist characteristic of Nigel Cabourn.
■The fabric is a 12.5 oz denim woven in Japan exclusively for the brand. It is the same fabric used in Nigel Cabourn’s BRITISH ARMY PANT LOOSE DENIM.
■Featuring replacement buttons and a HOOKLESS zipper, this jacket faithfully reproduces the fastening specifications of the era. Buttons are placed at three locations—the collar and the very bottom—while the body opens and closes with a zipper.Back then, manufacturing techniques for zipper sliders weren’t as advanced as they are today, so the zipper teeth often didn’t mesh properly, causing the zipper to come undone while wearing the garment. To prevent this, buttons were ingeniously incorporated into the design. While this product faithfully reproduces the original appearance and specifications, it is manufactured using modern technology, ensuring no issues with opening and closing during normal use.
■Made from a relatively lightweight denim fabric, this piece is designed to be worn for many seasons. Furthermore, its roomy fit allows you to easily layer it over thick tops like sweatshirts and sweaters during the winter.
