These coveralls are inspired by the indigo denim work coats—commonly known as “wartime models”—that were created when World War II broke out, leading to strict rationing and a need for simplicity.
The silhouette features a slightly longer body length and a clean, simple two-pocket design, finished in a deep indigo hue that makes it instantly recognizable as a wartime model.
■The fabric is the brand’s original indigo denim, intentionally made with a higher weight of 11.5 oz and finished with a deep, reddish-black rope dye.
By using highly irregular yarn for the warp and thick yarn with neps woven into the weft, the fabric has a very pronounced nepped texture. It is characterized by a rugged, raw aesthetic that reflects the context of wartime rationing.
■The collar features a simple, minimalist design with no chin strap and no stand-up collar.
■The buttons are iron donut buttons stamped with a laurel leaf motif.
■A Union Ticket is sewn inside the left pocket.
■This item has a washed finish.
