About OX’ED SILVER… This label has researched and analyzed the workwear suits—as well as the shirts, T-shirts, and other garments worn with them—that were once worn by specific workers, craftsmen, and artists, and has brought them back to life for the modern era.
This season’s collection focuses on five professions—blacksmith, master mason, firefighter, architect, and engineer—and incorporates these themes into the designs.
As the name suggests, these pants were inspired by vintage sashiko-quilted garments worn by firefighters.

■The fabric is the brand’s original sashiko fabric, woven from hemp and cotton and inspired by rare vintage textiles from the late 1800s to the early 1930s.
Sashiko is a traditional Japanese handicraft technique in which thick threads are inserted one stitch at a time across the entire surface of a single piece of fabric to create a pattern and give it thickness and durability. Sashiko weaving is the process of recreating this extremely primitive technique on a loom.
The fabric’s unparalleled sturdiness and natural thickness are achieved through a triple weave using a blended yarn of hemp and cotton.
The weave of sashiko fabric is extremely sturdy, and once it absorbs water, it functions as fire-resistant clothing. For this reason, this fabric is known in Japan as a specialized material worn by firefighters.
