These star-stitched jeans were produced by Sugar Cane in the 1960s to fulfill an order from a U.S. military PX (post exchange) stationed in Japan. Based on a pair that can be considered the brand’s roots, these jeans have been revived for the modern era in a style unique to Sugar Cane.
■The fabric is based on vintage denim from the late 1940s. It uses a blend of American and Zimbabwean cotton to recreate the vintage look with uneven yarns, woven on old-fashioned power looms just as they were back then.
This 14.25 oz denim fabric is firm and densely woven, making it prone to developing permanent creases. Combined with the uneven warp threads, you can enjoy fading and the patina of aging that are indistinguishable from genuine vintage denim.
■The silhouette is a regular straight cut similar to Sugar Cane’s classic 1947 model—a slightly wider, standard straight fit.
■These jeans are characterized by the star-shaped stitching on the hip pockets. The patch, made of deerskin, features a design inspired by the shape of the continental United States.
■The front features a button fly with the brand’s original buttons.
■Pre-washed item.

I usually wear a W33-inch size in Sugar Cane jeans. As usual, this product fits perfectly in a W33-inch size.
