These are sturdy, 6-inch logger-style boots. The name “Donkey Puncher” comes from the operators of steam engines known as “steam donkeys,” which were used in the American logging industry around the late 19th century.
■The leather is the highest-grade Chromexcel leather (aniline-finished oil-tanned leather, thickness: 2.0–2.3 mm) from HORWEEN, a long-established American leather manufacturer.
Chromexcel leather contains a high oil content, so it molds comfortably to your feet right from the start. It is also resistant to cracking even with extended wear and is characterized by its thick yet supple texture. (Natural-colored roughout)
The lining is made from Japanese horsehide, providing excellent comfort and a premium feel.
■ Triple stitching is applied to areas prone to pressure, and the stitching—a hallmark of Japanese craftsmanship—features a beautiful finish.
■ The layered Oak Dark Tan leather and the Woodsman’s Heel (with its distinctive inward curve) give the boot an elegant finish.
■The sole uses VIBRAM, a world-renowned manufacturer, and offers exceptional durability.
■Includes a removable boot guard (which protects the boot and distributes pressure from the laces).
■Boasting durability thanks to complex stitching using the Goodyear welt construction—one of the traditional methods for crafting leather shoes.
This construction method, often seen in vintage boots and high-end shoes, is characterized by a level of sturdiness that far surpasses other methods.
Thanks to its intricate stitching and construction, the shoe’s well-balanced weight creates a pendulum-like motion while walking, providing excellent support.
One of its key attractions is that it can be repaired—such as by replacing the sole or heel—allowing you to wear it virtually forever.
