1930s–1940s STYLE WORK CLOTHING

“Birner” is named after a legendary racer of the past.
The design is inspired by mechanic’s work shirts from the 1930s and 1940s.
In 1938, the Southern California Timing Association—an organization based in California that managed and organized speed races on dry lakes and salt flats—was founded, and the first speed trial race was held in Murlock, California.
This product is a custom model designed with the concept that the wearer customized it themselves to commemorate entering that race.

■The fabric is 8.5 oz indigo denim. Woven with warp threads featuring significant variation in color, this denim offers pronounced vertical fading and a beautiful patina that deepens with repeated wear and washing.
Made from lightweight denim, this shirt is comfortable to wear and versatile enough to pair with a variety of outfits.
■The right chest features a logo representing a V8 engine; the left chest features an oil company logo; and the back is printed with a Ford V8 Roadster in “Truck Nose” style—equipped with parts from the manufacturer Gemsa—along with the number “38,” representing the year of its debut, 1938.
The print is applied using a crack-rubber printing technique, which is prone to cracking. As you wear and wash the shirt repeatedly, the print will gradually crack, allowing you to enjoy a vintage-like patina.
■The collar features a short chin strap, offering a clean finish that preserves the vintage details.
■The chest pockets are asymmetrical: the right pocket has a simple design and is reinforced with a chambray lining, while the left pocket features a double-layered construction with a watch pocket—an elaborate design typical of work shirts that prevents items from falling out.
■The chest pockets, flaps, and cuffs have rounded corners for a clean, unobtrusive silhouette.
■The buttons are the brand’s original 15mm iron buttons with a rust-effect finish.
