This is the black version of the British Officers Shirt, one of Nigel Cabourn’s signature items.
The most distinctive feature of this product is its fabric; this exceptionally fine fabric is woven exclusively for “Nigel Cabourn.”
Starting with the selection and blending of short-staple cotton fibers to create the yarn, the brand uses a custom-made weft yarn produced entirely in-house from the spinning stage.
It takes approximately six months to complete this shirt from the start of production to the finished product—specifically, two months for yarn production, two months for fabric production, and two months for garment construction.
If the brand were to purchase ready-made fabric and turn it into a finished product, the process would take about two weeks at the fastest.
Even in what appears to be just an ordinary Oxford shirt—one that seems unremarkable at first glance—you can sense an extremely high level of quality.
■The fabric was originally designed and woven to evoke the density of the Oxford weave used in 1920s French workwear, bringing that heritage back to life for the modern era. It is an Oxford fabric with a density and thickness virtually unmatched elsewhere, making it a durable fabric capable of withstanding many years of use.
■The design is based on a shirt worn by British Army officers. At first glance, it appears to be an ordinary shirt, but it is packed with Nigel Cabourn’s attention to detail throughout—from the hidden button-down collar on the inside to the rounded hem and elegant mother-of-pearl buttons.
