This is a civilian version of the M-1951 U.S. Army field jacket from the 1950s to the 1960s.
The M-1951 was the successor to the M-1943 and remained in use until around 1960, when it was replaced by the M-1965. Based on the M-1951, this jacket features a cleaner, more streamlined silhouette with the shoulder lines and the hood attached to the back of the collar omitted.
■The fabric is original military-grade cotton backsatin.
It is thick with just the right weight, and the texture is so authentic you might mistake it for a vintage piece; it can be worn casually like a coverall. The lining is made of plain-woven cotton fabric.
■The front features a large zipper and snap buttons, making it very easy to open and close—even while wearing gloves.
The oversized chest pocket, a signature feature of the M-1951, can also be opened and closed with snap buttons.
■Drawstrings are included at the waist and hem, allowing you to cinch the garment to your preference.
■The buttons are urea resin buttons, commonly found in military apparel.Unlike the petroleum-based plastic buttons commonly used today, these urea resin buttons have a pleasant texture and are durable.
■Unwashed item.
