"EASTMAN LEATHER CLOTHING" is a British brand that meticulously reproduces vintage flight jackets from the 1939–1945 era, focusing primarily on American military clothing.
With a history spanning over 30 years, this reproduction manufacturer sources the exact same materials used back then. They commission every single component—down to the finest detail—from the original parts manufacturers of the era, recreating the jackets to the exact specifications of the time and bringing them back to life in the modern era—truly authentic reproductions.
While its core aesthetic is rooted in military style, its other label, “ELMC,” was launched as a collection inspired by the mid-20th-century motorcycle scene, offering everything from biker styles to sportswear.
■In the early days of the Vietnam War, some members of U.S. special forces, dissatisfied with the standard-issue combat uniforms of the time, began customizing or procuring their own uniforms. This product is a faithful reproduction of the hooded sweatshirts that these soldiers had custom-made using the Mitchell camo pattern, based on designs originally created for the hunting market.
■The Mitchell Camo pattern featured in this product was adopted as a successor to the previously used Duck Hunter Camo, which had been phased out due to its original purpose as a pattern for duck hunting—a fact compounded by incidents of friendly fire. Originally intended for use as fabric for helmets and tents rather than combat uniforms, it was never officially adopted as clothing; consequently, it is a camouflage pattern rarely found as apparel even on the vintage market.
■Like the Duck Hunter Camo adopted previously, this is a Jungle & Desert pattern that can be used on both sides, making it reversible.
