■This classic-looking shoulder bag is a modern take on vintage European bags.
The leather used is vegetable-tanned leather from Himeji, a region renowned for its leather production.Vegetable-tanned leather is produced using a method in which the leather is tanned exclusively with plant-based tannins.
It is characterized by a lustrous sheen that develops with use, a supple feel that allows the leather to mold to the body, excellent dye absorption, and vibrant color.
Although this production method is extremely labor-intensive, time-consuming, and inefficient, it maximizes the inherent qualities of the material.
Furthermore, it features a “vintage finish” achieved by first applying a traditional hand-dyeing technique known as “oka-zome,” followed by a “kogashi” treatment and oil finishing to create a well-worn look.
In recent years, leather artisans skilled in hand-dyeing have become among the few remaining in the world, making this a rare production method.
■ The zipper at the opening uses an “Old American”-style UNIVERSAL zipper.
■ The “B.L.W.” stamp stands for “BAGGAGE LOAD WONDERLUST,” meaning “the desire to pack your bags and wander.”
■ The shoulder strap is adjustable in 5 steps, allowing you to customize the length from approximately 96 cm to 106 cm to suit your preference.
■ A dedicated drawstring pouch is included.
