This is the Montalk Shirt, a well-established staple in Free Wheelers’ outdoor sportswear line.
This hunting shirt incorporates elements of outdoor sports shirts from the 1920s and 1930s and features Free Wheelers’ signature intricate details throughout. “Montalk” is the name of a town located at the eastern tip of Long Island, New York.
■The fabric is a weather cloth made from a high-density plain weave of cotton and hemp blended yarn. It offers the characteristic unevenness and moderate stiffness of hemp, yet it has a softness and a lightweight feel similar to chambray.
You’ll notice the neps typical of hemp; this is part of the fabric’s unique character, so please enjoy its vintage-like texture.
■The buttons are original nut buttons from “BUBO SPORTS TOGS,” the outdoor and sports line by Free Wheelers.
■Ventilation is provided at the back yoke, and with tucks on both sides, the jacket allows for comfortable movement around the shoulders.
■Pre-washed item.
