[MAIN LINE] MADE IN JAPAN
This is the black version of Nigel Cabourn’s classic “Medical Shirt.”
Based on the shirt worn by Michael Ward—a doctor who accompanied a British mountaineering expedition in 1953 as they attempted the first-ever ascent of Mount Everest—this is Nigel Cabourn’s signature shirt, which he himself claims can be worn for 10 years.
It will be re-released in 2022 with some refinements.
While retaining its distinctive design, the waistline has been straightened and the overall fit has been slightly adjusted, allowing for a slightly more relaxed fit than before.
■This product is made from denim fabric with just the right thickness, offering a firm yet supple texture. It’s a shirt you can wear year-round, and you’ll enjoy watching it fade and age over time.
■The fabric is double-layered from around the armholes to the shoulders and back, as well as from the cuffs to the elbows, creating a sturdy, reinforced construction.
■It’s packed with the meticulous, intricate details found in vintage work shirts, such as the asymmetrical design of the chest pockets, the back yoke with ventilation holes to improve airflow, multiple ventilation holes under the arms, and the cat’s-eye buttons often seen in vintage pieces.
