What is OX’ED SILVER? It is a label that has revived for the modern era suits—originally worn as workwear by specific workers, artisans, and artists—as well as the shirts, T-shirts, and other garments worn with them, through research and analysis.
This season’s collection focuses on five professions—blacksmith, master mason, firefighter, architect, and engineer—and incorporates their characteristics into the designs.
This product is based on a coat traditionally worn by architects.
■The fabric is made from high-density linen woven from the fine-count yarns for which Nigel Cabourn is renowned. By weaving fine-count linen yarns at such a high density, the fabric achieves a balance of “thickness and rigidity.”
There are only one or two weaving mills in all of Japan capable of weaving fine-count linen to this level of density.And since this is the highest-density linen in Japan, it is likely the highest-density linen in the world as well.
Furthermore, this product undergoes a process called “Nidom” treatment, which involves kneading and pounding the fabric to soften it and create a vintage look.
Please enjoy the elegant sheen unique to linen, as well as its substantial feel despite being light and thin.
■This coat features a stand-up collar, raglan sleeves, a relaxed fit, and a longer length. The armholes offer just the right amount of room, so you can layer it over a jacket without feeling constricted, ensuring a comfortable, stress-free fit.
■Since this is an unlined, single-layer coat, one of its appeals is that it can be worn for a long season.
