What is OX’ED SILVER? It is a label that has revived—for the modern era—suits originally worn as workwear by specific laborers, artisans, and artists, along with the shirts, knitwear, and other items worn with them, through research and analysis.
This season’s collection focuses on four professions—ranch workers, coal miners, firefighters, and master masons—and incorporates their influences into the designs.
As the name suggests, this product is based on a shirt worn by coal miners.
■The fabric is a brushed cotton flannel. It is a reproduction of a fabric found in vintage British underwear, offering a comfortable thickness that provides just the right amount of security and a soft, pleasant feel against the skin.
■Based on the shirts worn by coal miners, this model recreates the extremely classic silhouette—originally designed to double as underwear—that marks the origins of the shirt.During the era of the vintage garments that inspired this design, shirts were worn in much the same way as modern underwear. The long front and back hems were intended to allow the shirt to serve as a substitute for underwear.
■ This design features a band collar with a chin tab and a long back hem, and it offers a slightly oversized, relaxed fit. Please check the actual measurements for details.
■In keeping with the product’s historical setting, we’ve taken special care to use buttons made from animal bone.
■Pre-washed item.
