Lot No. LK-024-BURGUNDY

Loafers originated as indoor shoes worn by the British royal family and the aristocracy in the 1920s; due to their convenience and attractive design, they gained popularity as outdoor footwear. They later made their way to the United States, where they became a massive trend as a must-have item defining the East Coast Ivy League style. While there are various theories, it is said that the names “coin loafer” and “penny loafer” became established because American students used to slip a penny into the slit in the saddle.
This model has been reimagined with a rugged style by upgrading the leather and hardware.
Since it’s made with thick leather, we recommend pairing it with jeans or chinos for a casual look.

■The leather used in this product is tanned using the Bacchetta method, a traditional technique from the Tuscany region of Italy.
The Bacchetta method is a traditional tanning process that involves slowly infusing the leather with vegetable tannins over an extended period, followed by repeated stages of fattening—a process of adding oil. However, because this method is time-consuming and labor-intensive, and the number of artisans carrying on the tradition has dwindled over time, the leather has become increasingly rare.
Leather tanned using the Bacchetta method has a fine grain and develops a beautiful luster the more it is worn, making the aging process a joy to watch.
■One of the distinctive features of this product is a component called the “beef roll”—a small piece of leather stitched over the joints at both ends of the half-saddle to reinforce them.
The name comes from its resemblance to roast beef tied with twine, and each piece is hand-stitched one by one by skilled artisans.
■The sole is finished with a leather sole, and the heel features a heel from VIBRAM, a world-renowned manufacturer, offering exceptional grip, durability, and abrasion resistance.
■Boasting durability achieved through complex stitching, these shoes are crafted using the Goodyear welt construction—one of the traditional methods for making leather shoes.
This construction method, commonly found in vintage boots and high-end shoes, is characterized by a level of sturdiness that is unmatched by other methods.
Thanks to its intricate stitching and construction, the shoe’s perfectly balanced weight creates a pendulum-like motion with each step, providing excellent support while walking.
A key appeal of these shoes is that they can be repaired—including sole replacement, full sole replacement, and heel replacement—allowing you to enjoy them for a virtually unlimited time.
■They will be delivered in a custom box.
