Lot No. LK-014-SHELL-BLK

Based on 1940s U.S. Army combat boots, we’ve faithfully recreated distinctive details such as the toe cap and decorative eyelets, while updating various elements to create a pair that fits the modern era.
One of the shoe’s key attractions is the upper, meticulously finished one pair at a time by skilled Japanese artisans, along with the delicate stitching along the edge.
While featuring a sleek silhouette, the use of JOHN LOFGREN’s original E-width last ensures a comfortable fit even for those with high insteps.

■The leather used is cordovan from Shinki Leather Co., Ltd., experts in horsehide tanning.
Cordovan is leather made by tanning the cordovan layer found inside the hide of a horse’s hindquarters. Unlike cowhide, which uses the “grain layer”—the surface of the hide with the hair removed—cordovan is created by shaving away part of this layer to reveal a collection of tough fibers, characterized by its high strength and beautiful luster.
The number of horses from which cordovan can be harvested is small, and the amount that can be obtained from a single horse is extremely limited. Due to its rarity and beauty, it is a high-end leather often referred to as the “diamond of leather.”
Furthermore, Shinki Leather Co., located in Himeji—the heart of Japan’s leather industry—is one of the few tanneries in the world that specializes exclusively in horsehide and handles the entire process in-house, from tanning raw hides to the final finishing. The company is highly regarded worldwide for its exceptional quality.
■The soles are made by the world-renowned manufacturer VIBRAM and offer exceptional durability.
■Crafted using the Goodyear welt construction—one of the traditional methods for making leather shoes—these boots boast exceptional durability thanks to their intricate stitching.
This construction method, commonly found in vintage boots and high-end footwear, is characterized by a level of sturdiness that far surpasses other methods.
The complex stitching and structure provide just the right weight, creating a pendulum-like motion that supports your stride.
A key appeal is that repairs, such as sole or heel replacements, are possible, allowing you to wear them virtually indefinitely.
■Delivered in a dedicated box.
