Based on the M-38 Mackinaw Coat—an outerwear garment adopted by the U.S. Army during World War II—this design is also commonly known as the “Jeep Coat” because it was a favorite among Jeep drivers.
This model features the brand’s original Half-Tex fabric, specially woven for this design.
■The main body of the coat is made from the brand’s original Half-Tex fabric.
Inspired by the fabric of a World War I-era trench coat from Nigel Cabourn’s vintage collection, this new material achieves the vintage texture and durability of natural cotton canvas that has aged for 100 years, along with surprising lightness.
Halftex is an ultra-lightweight nylon fabric woven from twisted yarns using hollow-core nylon staple fibers. It is an original material characterized by a “dry, natural texture,” “extremely high nylon rigidity,” and “astonishing lightness due to its hollow-core design.”
■ The collar and lining are made from a recycled polyester fleece, ensuring excellent warmth.
■The leather parts are made of cowhide. Since the leather is dry-cleanable, it’s easy to maintain.
■The design blends elements of the Jeep coat—often called a classic among military outerwear—with those of a car coat.
