The origins of desert boots can be traced back to the suede boots worn by British Army soldiers on the Burma Front during World War II.
Inspired by these suede boots, desert boots gained popularity in the United States in the 1950s and were worn by everyone from blue-collar workers to beatniks.
In the UK, they were particularly popular among Mods from the 1960s through the 1980s. Even today, they remain a standard style that has spread and been passed down worldwide.
JLB’s military desert boots are lightweight and comfortable, but due to their sturdy construction, they may feel heavier than typical desert boots. The leather insole is stitched together with the upper, lining, and midsole.
While some manufacturers cut costs by omitting the insole and bonding inexpensive materials during the final stage, JLB’s military desert boots are masterpieces crafted with passion and expertise, all while upholding tradition.
The leather is Japanese-made suede, and the lining is made of smooth, high-quality Japanese leather.
The sole is securely attached using the stitch-down construction method.
This traditional construction method predates the Goodyear welt construction by quite some time; it results in a sturdy, airtight structure that is highly resistant to water penetration.
It is also characterized by high flexibility and suppleness, providing a comfortable, enveloping fit, and resulting in a lighter shoe.
Double stitching is used in areas prone to pressure to enhance durability.
The shoes will be delivered in a dedicated box.

Each piece of natural leather is unique. You may notice minor scratches or wrinkles, but please enjoy these as part of the leather’s natural character. We look forward to your order with this understanding.
You may notice what appears to be a dark stain on the sole. This is a characteristic of crepe soles and results from the manufacturing process. We ask for your understanding before placing your order.
