"EASTMAN LEATHER CLOTHING" is a British brand that meticulously reproduces vintage flight jackets from the 1939–1945 era, with a focus on American military clothing.
With a history spanning over 30 years, this reproduction manufacturer sources the exact same materials used back then. To ensure every detail is authentic, they commission all components from the original manufacturers of the era, recreating each piece to the exact same specifications as the originals and bringing them back to life for the modern era.
While its core aesthetic is rooted in military style, its other label, “ELMC,” was launched as a collection inspired by the mid-20th-century motorcycle scene, offering everything from biker styles to sportswear.
This footwear was created through a collaboration between “EASTMAN LEATHER CLOTHING” and bootmaker “Mr. JOHN LOFGREN,” combining his passion and expertise in footwear.
■The vulcanization process used to make these shoes is an extremely labor-intensive method that involves vulcanizing raw rubber and bonding the sole to the upper through a thermal reaction; today, only a very small number of manufacturers in Japan still use this method.
Characterized by a supple yet durable finish and a beautiful texture, we remain steadfastly committed to this traditional manufacturing method.
■We are committed to using only Japanese-made products, including Japanese-made cotton canvas fabric and all other components.
■When you actually pick up these sneakers and slip your feet into them, you’ll be surprised by how they differ from other sneakers thanks to their distinctive heft and cushioning.
This is because they feature a double-sole construction—a design that is still quite rare today. They are arguably the most comfortable sneakers on the market today.
■Packed with meticulously crafted details, including taped seams, metal eyelets and ventilation holes, double-stitching to reinforce stress points, a full-sponge insole, and reinforced toe, heel, and heel cup areas. Delivered in a dedicated, original box.
