The origins of Chelsea boots date back to around the 1830s.
It is said that they originated as boots made for Queen Victoria, featuring elastic on the sides for a snug fit and easy on-and-off wear; they were originally worn as dress shoes.
Chelsea boots became widely popular in the 1960s, largely due to British musicians—including The Beatles and The Rolling Stones—wearing them.
The name “Chelsea” derives from the Chelsea district of London. While Chelsea is now known alongside Mayfair as an upscale residential area, in the 1960s it was known as a place where artists—including painters, visual artists, and musicians—worked and lived.
Based on this classic Chelsea boot, we’ve refined the details and design and upgraded the materials and components to create a masterpiece suited for the modern era.
By using JOHN LOFGREN’s original D-width last, we’ve also focused on achieving a clean silhouette.
This results in a highly versatile pair of boots that works equally well with rugged styles and elegant looks. Another appealing feature is that they’re easier to slip on and off compared to other boots.

The leather used is Chromexcel Leather (an aniline-finished oil-tanned leather with a thickness of 2.0–2.3 mm), the highest grade from Horween, a long-established American leather manufacturer.
Chromexcel leather contains a high oil content, making it resistant to cracking even with extended wear; it is characterized by being both thick and supple.
The sole and heel are made by the world-renowned manufacturer Vibram, offering exceptional grip, durability, and abrasion resistance.
Crafted using the Goodyear welt construction—one of the traditional methods for making leather shoes—it boasts exceptional durability thanks to its complex stitching.
This construction method, commonly found in vintage boots and high-end shoes, is characterized by a level of durability that is unmatched by other methods.
The complex stitching and structure provide just the right amount of weight, creating a pendulum-like motion that supports your stride.
A key appeal is that repairs—such as sole and heel replacements—are possible, allowing you to wear them virtually indefinitely.
They will be delivered in a dedicated box.
