After examining numerous vintage engineer boots, we’ve created these Japanese-made engineer boots packed with meticulous attention to detail—including materials, manufacturing methods, and individual components—that can’t be fully described in just a few words.
These are the crowning masterpiece of the John Lofgren Boot Company’s lineup and truly embody the brand’s passion and commitment to excellence.
Crafted by Japanese artisans using time-honored techniques, they feature a sturdy, high-quality finish.
Every year during the Christmas season, we offer limited-edition special-edition boots.
The Christmas models are extremely rare, offering a valuable opportunity to own a truly unique and special pair.
In 2026, we are introducing the Wabash Engineer Boots, crafted from Horween’s Chromexcel Leather in “Natural Roughout × Dark Olive.”
■The leather used is Horween’s Chromexcel leather (an aniline-finished oil-tanned leather, leather thickness: 2.0–2.3 mm) from the long-established American leather manufacturer Horween.
Chromexcel leather contains a high oil content, so it molds to your feet comfortably right from the start. It is also resistant to cracking even with extended wear and is characterized by its thick yet supple texture.
■ Triple stitching is applied to areas prone to pressure, and the stitching—a hallmark of Japanese craftsmanship—features a beautiful finish.
■ The shoe features layered Oak Dark Tan leather and a Woodsman’s heel (with a curve that indents inward), resulting in an elegant finish.
■The shaft is shaped with a rounded contour at the calf for a comfortable fit.
■The buckle is a steel roller buckle featuring the brand’s logo. It has an antique brass finish and was designed from scratch to blend seamlessly with the leather.
■The sole is made by the world-renowned manufacturer VIBRAM and offers exceptional durability.
■Crafted using the Goodyear welt construction—one of the traditional methods for making leather shoes—these boots boast exceptional durability thanks to their complex stitching.
This construction method, commonly found in vintage boots and high-end footwear, is characterized by a level of sturdiness that far surpasses other methods.
The complex stitching and structure provide just the right amount of weight, creating a pendulum-like motion that supports your stride.
A key appeal is that repairs—such as sole or heel replacements—are possible, allowing you to wear them semi-permanently.
■Delivered in a dedicated box.

Each piece of natural leather is unique. You may notice minor scratches or wrinkles, but please enjoy these as part of the leather’s natural character. We look forward to your order with your understanding.
Some boots feature a suede finish, so there may be scuff marks on the inside of the boot. These are unavoidable during the manufacturing process, so we ask for your understanding before placing an order.
For pre-order items, “full payment in advance” is the standard policy. Delays may occur due to circumstances related to the manufacturing process. If delivery is delayed, we will contact you via the email address you have registered with us.
