What is OX’ED SILVER? It is a label that has revived, for the modern era, workwear suits—as well as the shirts, T-shirts, and other garments worn with them—by researching and analyzing the styles worn by specific workers, artisans, and artists.
This season’s collection focuses on four occupations—ranch workers, coal miners, firefighters, and master masons—and incorporates their characteristics into the designs.
As the product name suggests, this item is designed based on the shirts worn by ranch workers.

■The fabric is a double-weave cotton woven from fine-count yarn. It is a lightweight material with a dry, gauze-like texture that feels soft and comfortable against the skin.
■Based on shirts worn by ranch workers in the early 1900s, this model recreates the sleeved design that is the origin of the modern vest. During the era of the vintage garments that served as the model, shirts were worn in much the same way as modern underwear.The front and back hems of the shirt were made long because it served as a substitute for underwear. Consequently, going out in public wearing only the shirt was equivalent to walking around in your underwear. This led to the creation of the vest as an outer garment. Since it was an outer garment, it originally had sleeves; however, because people wore jackets over them, the vest’s sleeves were gradually omitted.
This product revives the classic silhouette from the early days of the vest for the modern era.
Although the product name includes “shirt,” it features a cardigan-like design with a roomy, relaxed fit. Please check the actual measurements for details.
■In keeping with the product’s historical setting, the buttons are made from animal bone—a meticulous design detail.
