This Ventile smock was designed and inspired by Henry Morsehead, who joined George Mallory on the 1924 expedition to summit Mount Everest.
This product is part of LIMITED EDITION 5, a limited-edition collection released to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the mysterious Everest ascent by British mountaineer George Mallory, whom Nigel Cabourn has long admired. It is a rare model, with production limited to just 100 pieces worldwide per style.
■The outer fabric is made of L-24 Ventile. Ventile is a fabric developed by the Royal Air Force during World War II, woven from cotton at an extremely high density, and boasts excellent waterproofing and airtightness.
■The jacket is fully lined with cotton.
■Wooden parts are used for the drawcord adjusters on the hood, waist, and hem. While metal parts are commonly used for this purpose, metal—which has high thermal conductivity—can stick to bare skin in extremely cold temperatures, posing a risk of injury.
Nigel Cabourn’s attention to detail is reflected not only in the design but also in the selection of these components.
■This product has a slightly smaller fit than typical pullover smocks. We recommend selecting one size larger than your usual size.
