1950s CIVILIAN MILITARY-STYLE CLOTHING

This is the civilian model of the M-1951, commonly known as the “Mods parka” or “fishtail parka.”
This item is a single-layer model without a wool lining. One of its appeals is that it can be worn for a long season.
As a civilian model, the design omits the coyote fur that would normally adorn the hood. The silhouette retains a vintage feel while featuring a generously roomy fit, allowing you to layer bulky items like vests or sweatshirts underneath.

■The fabric used is the original military back satin. It is a thick fabric for back satin and has just the right weight for a hoodie shell.
While vintage M-1951 parkas are typically made of cotton-nylon, this product is based on a model made from 100% cotton military back satin fabric—a version produced in very limited quantities during the early production run.
■The hood trim features spindles for adjustable fit, the cuffs have built-in straps, and spindles are placed at the waist, allowing you to cinch the waist.The front placket features a double-layered design that fastens with both buttons and a zipper. The back hem and the area just above it feature snap buttons, allowing you to fold down the back hem and fasten the buttons to shorten the length.
■ The pocket interiors are lined with olive-colored wool flannel, so they also function as hand warmers.
