A tribute to Ernest Hemingway, the legendary literary giant who deeply loved Key West, Cuba, and the Gulf Stream—and “clothing as a tool” for men.
The brand name is derived from the mojito, a drink Hemingway is said to have loved.Designer Hirofumi Yamashita has studied and interpreted Hemingway’s works, using his own philosophy of clothing to express Hemingway’s character, the historical context of his era, and scenes from his daily life.
The Gulf Stream Pants feature distinctive double pleats and a relatively relaxed fit around the waist. They offer a clean silhouette that tapers effectively from the voluminous thigh area down to the hem.
■The fabric is made from a blend of washi paper and linen yarn. Washi fabric, also known as “shifu,” is woven using a blend of paper and hemp fibers. Because washi fibers are longer and more tightly intertwined than cotton fibers, the fabric has minimal pilling, is lightweight, and offers excellent breathability and moisture absorption. With a cool, smooth, and dry feel, this fabric is ideal for summer.
The luster and natural wrinkles characteristic of linen also give it a cool, refreshing appearance.
