The 1947 Model is Sugar Cane’s signature piece, faithfully recreating every luxurious detail found in jeans from the late 1940s, following World War II.
Based on vintage denim, we’ve paid meticulous attention to every step of the process—from spinning and dyeing to weaving and sewing—to create a pair of jeans truly worthy of the name “STANDARD DENIM.”
■The fabric is based on vintage denim from the late 1940s. It uses a blend of American and Zimbabwean cotton to recreate the vintage look with uneven yarns, woven on old-fashioned power looms just as they were back then.
This 14.25 oz denim fabric is firm and densely woven, making it prone to developing permanent creases. Combined with the uneven warp yarns, you can enjoy fading and the patina of aging that is virtually indistinguishable from genuine vintage denim.
■The silhouette is a regular straight—a slightly wider, standard straight cut.
■The patches are made of deerskin. While vintage jeans sometimes feature an offset back center belt loop, the belt loops on this model are centered.
Just like vintage jeans made during an era when standards were not yet unified, this model faithfully reproduces every detail—such as using dozens of different types of cotton thread, varying in color and thickness, in specific areas throughout the stitching.
■The front buttonsare made of iron and feature the brand’soriginal engraving.
