Duke Kahanamoku is known as the man who introduced aloha shirts and surfing culture to the world. He devised the style of cutting the shirt’s hem straight and wearing it with the hem hanging out, creating the prototype for what would later become the Hawaiian sports shirt.
Furthermore, Hawaiian fashion gained nationwide attention in the United States when actors wore his aloha shirts in the movie *From Here to Eternity*.

Furthermore, Duke worked to promote surfing as a global sport by conducting outreach activities throughout Australia and the United States, sharing its appeal with many people.
During the war, he also devoted himself to promoting aloha shirts, expanding their popularity on the U.S. mainland. In addition, he contributed to the community for many years as the sheriff of Honolulu and, until the end of his life, hosted many prominent figures as the “Aloha Goodwill Ambassador.”

This product is a special edition model that faithfully reproduces Duke Kahanamoku’s rare vintage aloha shirt.

■The fabric used is rayon fujiet, which faithfully reproduces the vintage original.
Rayon fujiet is a plain-woven fabric made with filament rayon for the warp and spun rayon for the weft. It combines the suppleness of Fuji silk with the unique texture of rayon and is characterized by its downy surface.

■This product is a faithful reproduction of a design originally created by the Duke Kahanamoku brand in the early 1950s. The wave-inspired background is dotted with palm tree silhouettes created using a discharge print technique, resulting in a piece that exudes both sophistication and a strong visual impact.
