These tiger camo-patterned shorts are inspired by the tropical regions where they were widely worn during the Vietnam War in the 1960s—whether as workwear at base camp or during breaks.
They feature a clean, above-the-knee silhouette, reminiscent of a shorts version of chinos.
■The fabric is a two-ply cotton waistpoint. Since it uses two strands of yarn that are finer than single-ply yarn, the resulting fabric has a fine texture, feels soft against the skin, and offers increased strength. Although it is a slightly thin, lightweight fabric, it is durable and has a subtle sheen.
■A key feature is the clean design, inspired by the shift from curved side pockets to a straighter design that occurred in the 1950s and 1960s.
■The seams on both sides and the seat are finished with flat-felled seams so the stitching is not visible on the outside.
■Only the crotch area, which requires extra strength, is reinforced with a sturdy double-needle stitch.
■The front features a button fly, and the buttons are made of urea.
