From the Nigel Cabourn Women’s 2026 High Summer Collection, this knit vest is designed based on the British Army string vests used in the 1940s and 1950s.

■The garment is crafted from lightweight, breathable linen. By carefully knitting three strands of 100% linen yarn together, it achieves the rich texture and moderate body characteristic of linen, while also providing a supple feel and high durability.
Cotton is used for the shoulder panels, adding a design element through the fabric contrast while also reinforcing areas subject to stress.
■While the original design features macramé weaving, this product faithfully reproduces it through machine knitting. By knitting carefully without applying tension, we’ve achieved a textured, three-dimensional finish.
■This product is based on one of the garments from the layering system adopted by many British military units. Its sleeveless design creates an air layer, providing enhanced warmth in cold weather and ensuring breathability in hot weather—a highly practical feature.
■By layering it over T-shirts, tank tops, or shirts, you can enjoy a wide range of outfit combinations and use it as a styling accent .
■Pre-washed item.
