This down jacket was inspired by the outerwear worn by George Finch, who attempted to summit Everest alongside George Mallory.
This product is part of the LIMITED EDITION 5 collection, released to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the mysterious Everest ascent by British mountaineer George Mallory, whom Nigel Cabourn has long admired. It is a rare model, with only 100 pieces produced worldwide for each style.
■ The outer fabric is made of Ventile. Ventile is a fabric developed by the Royal Air Force during World War II, woven from cotton at an ultra-high density, and boasts excellent waterproofing and airtightness.
■ The down filling consists of 95% premium-quality goose down.Typically, even high-quality down garments contain 10–20% feathers to somewhat reduce the bulk of the down; however, thanks to the exceptional craftsmanship of this product, it contains only 5% feathers. As a result, it boasts exceptional thermal insulation capable of withstanding temperatures as low as minus 40 degrees.
■ The collar is luxuriously lined with sheepskin shearling, designed to be turned up for enhanced warmth.
■ This is an unwashed product.
