This is an indigo-dyed version of a wide-silhouette open-collar shirt made from a linen twill fabric woven exclusively for Nigel Cabourn.
■The fabric is a lightweight, high-density linen twill with a twill weave, woven exclusively for the brand.
Thin fabrics of this composition are prone to warping diagonally and losing their structure when sewn into garments; however, this fabric is characterized by its high-density weft weave, which allows it to maintain a firm shape while still offering softness, a moderate amount of natural wrinkles, and a beautiful drape without feeling too stiff.
This fabric is thinner and softer than the HIGH DENSITY LINEN used by the same brand.
■ Indigo dyeing is a traditional Japanese dyeing technique that uses natural dyes. Each piece is hand-dyed, resulting in unique textures. You can enjoy the aging process—similar to denim—where the color fades and a worn-in look develops with repeated wear and washing.
