About OX’ED SILVER... This label revives, through research and analysis, the suits—originally worn as workwear by specific workers, artisans, and artists—as well as the shirts, T-shirts, and other garments worn with them.
This season’s collection focuses on four professions—engineers, master masons, firefighters, and architects—and incorporates elements of these trades into the designs.
As the name suggests, this product is based on a jacket originally worn by firefighters.

■The fabric is a brand-original herringbone weave made from a two-ply yarn—a blend of hemp and “top” linen yarns—woven using a combination of indigo and sulfur dyeing techniques.
“Top” refers to yarn that has been dyed in its raw state; this process gives the yarn a natural, uneven texture, resulting in a fabric with a complex, rich, and deep appearance.
Please enjoy this one-of-a-kind fabric, which combines the character of herringbone weave—which develops a richer texture with wear—with the dry, crisp feel of linen and hemp.
■This product is based on the design of a vintage jacket worn by U.S. volunteer fire departments.
The buttons are reproduction “change buttons” modeled after brass buttons originally designed by a now-defunct historic French department store for its own volunteer fire department.In a meticulous touch, the brand name “NIGEL CABOURN” is engraved on the back of the buttons, just as the name of the department store from that era would have been engraved.
■The fit is roomy and oversized.
